Connect your mailbox
Connecting a Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox lets incoming customer emails appear as conversations in HellouChat, alongside WhatsApp, Instagram and web chat, so your team can reply from one place.
In HellouChat, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings → Inboxes.
- Click Add inbox.
- Choose Email, then Gmail.
- Sign in with Google and grant access to the mailbox you want to connect.
- You’re done — new emails to that mailbox now arrive as HellouChat conversations, and replies you send from HellouChat go out from that mailbox.
What we access
To provide this integration, HellouChat requests the Google OAuth scope https://mail.google.com/, which is required to read the connected mailbox over IMAP and to send replies over SMTP. We use this access only to show incoming messages to the account’s agents, send the replies they write, and keep the connection alive. Disconnect & revoke
You can revoke HellouChat’s access at any time by deleting the email inbox in HellouChat, or from your Google Account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. When an inbox is deleted, the stored tokens are deleted.
